Coleen Rooney says she was ‘really shocked’ at reaction to Rebekah Vardy post
Oleen Rooney expressed her surprise over the huge response her post about Rebekah Vardy received, which eventually resulted in a well-known legal battle.
The spouse of the ex-soccer player and present director of Birmingham City, Wayne Rooney asserted that Jamie Vardy, who is 41 years old, was the one responsible for three "made-up" articles published in The Sun. These articles consisted of fake information that she had shared on her private Instagram stories, which she used to identify the person who leaked the data.
Rooney planted false stories that included her journeying to Mexico for a "sex choice" procedure, her intention to make a comeback on TV, and the flooding of her new house's basement.
Vardy, who is married to Jamie Vardy, a footballer from Leicester City, brought a legal case against Rooney for harming her reputation. However, she was unsuccessful in the High Court because the judge determined that Rooney's statements were mostly correct.
Talking about the response of the people to the post on BBC One's The One Show, Rooney expressed that he was aware that people would pay attention to it, but he did not expect it to be that big. He was really surprised by the magnitude of the attention it received.
When asked if she still agrees with the post, she answered, "It was me who wrote it and I still believe in what I said. I have not changed my mind about it."
"It was challenging; there were instances when I wished the situation would disappear. Nevertheless, I did what I had to do and persevered."
She expressed that it was an immensely trying and anxious experience.
Now, I sense a huge burden has been lifted. Although, I was taking care of the kids in person, mentally I wasn't present, and presently, I am so thankful to be mindful and present, taking care of my children both physically and mentally.
Rooney made an appearance on a BBC program to talk about her upcoming three-part documentary series, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, which will be released on Disney+ this Wednesday. The series will showcase Rooney's personal viewpoint on the events surrounding the case.
The legal process was referred to as Wagatha Christie, alluding to the famous crime novelist and the phrase Wag which stands for "wives and girlfriends" of popular soccer players.
Rooney shared a message on her social media accounts in October 2019, where she accused Vardy. She stated that she had posted some untrue stories over the course of five months to test if they would end up in the Sun newspaper. Surprisingly, they did.
She stated that it was difficult for her to contain her thoughts and emotions without expressing any comments, especially when confidential information had been disclosed, but she managed to do so.
I am now completely sure from which account or person it originated.
I managed to preserve and capture all the initial accounts that evidently indicate only a solitary individual had accessed them.
Rebekah Vardy's account has been the topic of discussion.
