Konsa, Palmer and Lewis called up to England squad
Konsa, Palmer, and Lewis have each represented England at the Under-21 level.
The England team has included Cole Palmer, Ezri Konsa, and Rico Lewis in their squad for the first time.
After James Maddison, Callum Wilson, and Lewis Dunk had to pull out due to injuries, the squad has included the trio for the upcoming two Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Palmer, who plays forward for Chelsea, and Lewis, who is a defender for Manchester City, have been promoted from the England Under-21 team to the senior squad managed by Gareth Southgate.
On 17 November, England will face Malta, followed by North Macedonia on 20 November.
Jude Bellingham, who plays as a midfielder for Real Madrid, might not be able to participate in the upcoming matches due to a shoulder injury.
According to a statement from England, most of Gareth Southgate's team members are expected to arrive at St George's Park on Monday for additional evaluations.
Palmer, who is currently 21 years old, was one of the players on the England U21 team that won the European Championship during the summer. He has also been performing exceptionally well for Chelsea this season.
During the summer, he became a part of the Blues after leaving Manchester City. On Sunday, he scored a penalty against his past team in an exhilarating 4-4 Premier League match.
Southgate has mentioned Lewis, who is 18 years old, on many occasions. He played for City and helped them win the Treble last season.
Konsa, a 26-year-old defender from Aston Villa, snagged the victory in the Under-20 World Cup with England back in 2017. He's been an instrumental part of his club's success this season and has helped them secure the fifth ranking in the Premier League.
England has secured their spot in the upcoming European Championship that will be held in Germany in June and July. This was made possible by their triumphant 3-1 victory against Italy in the month of October.
