Cold Weather Payments have been activated in certain regions where temperatures have dropped below freezing, making residents eligible for an additional £25 from the Department for Work and Pensions.

What does a Cold Weather Payment mean?

This is a one-time payment of £25 given to households located in regions that face freezing temperatures for a week.

Managed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), this program is among the most recognized initiatives in the country aimed at assisting families in reducing their energy expenses.

Due to the recent income assessment for the Winter Fuel Payment, numerous elderly households are now turning to Cold Weather Payments to help reduce their energy costs this year.

It's important to mention that Scotland has its own version of the program called Winter Heating Payments.
