The networks will continue to provide simultaneous coverage, switching between NBC News, NBC News NOW, and 'MSNBC Reports' as the situation unfolds throughout the week.
After the recent assassination attempt on Trump, many of his loyal followers have strongly condemned the media and left-leaning commentators for their tough reporting, which has highlighted the potential consequences of having the former president in power for another term.
Cesar Conde, who is in charge of NBCUniversal News Group, collaborated with Rashida Jones, the head of MSNBC, as well as hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski to make the decision, according to a source familiar with the situation who spoke to CNN.
During the campaign period, media outlets extensively covered Trump's efforts to bend the federal government to his advantage, even using it to retaliate against his enemies.
