Passengers heading out on Christmas Eve are experiencing delays and cancellations on certain trains along the south coast.
Due to an issue with the platform facilities at Portsmouth and Southsea station, South Western Railway (SWR) has announced that some train services have been canceled, delayed, or changed.
SWR indicated that they anticipated the interruptions would continue until the end of the day.
Trains running between Southampton Central and Portsmouth will now end their journeys at Fratton station.
Train connections between Fratton and Portsmouth, as well as Southsea, remain operational along separate routes.
SWR services heading to Southampton Central are now departing from Fratton as well.
Passengers at Portsmouth Harbour or Portsmouth and Southsea looking to travel to Haslemere and Guildford are advised to catch their trains from Fratton instead.
SWR announced that valid tickets will be honored on Great Western Railway routes between Southampton Central and Portsmouth Harbour throughout the period of the disruption.
Southern trains traveling between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour in both directions are also honoring valid SWR tickets.
