The comedian has defied expectations by reaching Week 10 of the BBC dance competition. However, he confessed that he can’t evaluate his performance until his professional partner, Dianne Buswell, gives him feedback afterward. McCausland mentioned that the Paso Doble has been the most challenging dance he has tackled to date.

"Understanding The What, How, And Why"

On Friday, November 22, McCausland and Buswell joined the spin-off show It Takes Two to talk about their success during Blackpool Week. This week, they are set to perform the Paso Doble. However, McCausland, the first blind contestant on Strictly, admitted that although he usually has a sense of how his dances are going, he has no clue with this energetic Latin routine.

The comedian shared with host Janette Manrara, "I have to say, this has been the toughest one for me. Figuring it all out took me two days just to grasp the right positions I need to be in. It feels really unnatural. It doesn’t connect with any of the other routines in terms of what’s expected, the body positions, and the stances—it’s all very twisted and extended."

Initially, she was guiding me, and I kept questioning her, thinking, "Are you positive you've learned this correctly?" It just seemed off to me, and I couldn't gauge my progress. I was confident we had nailed the American Smooth routine at the end. But with this new one, I won't have a clue about my performance until Diane either praises me or gives me some criticism.

What's New In It Takes Two?

Vito Coppola felt embarrassed by his performance in the Strictly 2024 professional competition.

This year, judge Craig Revel Horwood challenged the professional dancers to try to beat the record for the highest number of Cha-Cha-Cha chasses completed in half a minute. Copplola, who claimed the glitterball trophy in 2023 alongside Corrie star Ellie Leach, was the first dancer to participate in this year's Strictly pro challenge.

Under the watchful eyes of Revel Horwood and a certified Guinness World Records timekeeper, Coppola showcased her moves on a compact stage. After her performance, she admitted, "I’m really sweaty. My legs are on fire, and I can feel the burn in my muscles. Sweat is dripping from every part of me." Revel Horwood added, "You've definitely lost your smile."

Manrara disclosed that Coppola completed 10 steps in just 30 seconds. However, she later pointed out that eight of the chasses were deemed invalid because he hadn’t fully planted his heel on each step.

He exclaimed, "Wait, what?! I didn’t wear heels?! My dad often says I dance on my toes. Honestly, I truly hope—and I’m confident—that my coworker did a much better job than I did, and I’m really proud of all of them!"
