Chris McCausland from Strictly Come Dancing has received accolades for his sharp and humorous comments aimed at judge Craig Revel Horwood.

The 47-year-old comedian, who is the first visually impaired contestant on the show, has been sharing his top jokes during the BBC dance competition.

This week, Revel Horwood found himself in McCausland’s crosshairs. When the judge directed some harsh words at former Arsenal and England footballer Paul Merson, McCausland quickly came to his teammate's aid, stating, “It seems like Craig is more out of it than I am.”

Fans on X/Twitter are already eager to declare McCausland the overall champion of the competition due to his sense of humor and uplifting attitude.

Someone posted online: “AWARD CHRIS THE GLITTERBALL RIGHT NOW.”

"Chris McCausland is an icon; his comment about Craig being just as blind as he is was absolutely hilarious. Let's keep that in mind!"

Another fan commented, "I'm laughing so hard I can barely breathe."

The comedian kept the hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman laughing uncontrollably during Saturday night’s episode as he responded to Revel Horwood in his feedback segment.

When it was Revel Horwood's opportunity to critique McCausland's Foxtrot to "Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy" by The Tams, the comedian immediately responded with, "Go ahead, I’m ready."

The judge, recognized for his harsh critiques, was momentarily at a loss for words when McCausland challenged him. The comedian added, “Anton has already talked about the frame, so try to come up with something different.”

"Your fingers really annoyed me," Craig said. "They were spread out like bananas, and I’m sure someone has mentioned it to you, but you clearly ignored it."

Later, McCausland, a Liverpool native, jokingly expressed that he "wasn't pleased" since he was dancing while the Liverpool match was happening.

"I'm frustrated because they had me go on just 10 minutes before the Liverpool match ended," he mentioned. "That's a significant portion of Liverpool caught up in the game. It's also a big part of my main supporter base."

At the age of 22, McCausland became blind as a result of a genetic disorder known as retinitis pigmentosa.

In addition to his roles as a comedian on panel shows like Have I Got News for You and Would I Lie to You?, McCausland also leads the ITV Saturday morning program The Chris McCausland Show. He’s recognized by younger audiences for his character Rudi, the market trader, in the CBeebies series Me Too!
