Coldplay Singer Helps Arthritic Fan Get To Concert

Saundra Glenn was almost about to leave when Chris Martin drove up in his Mercedes.

A lady who has trouble moving around was surprised when Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, suggested giving her a ride at Radio 1's Big Weekend.

64-year-old Saundra Glenn is suffering from osteoarthritis and a problematic right hip. As she was on her way to the accessible ticket office, she decided to take a break and leaned against a fence.

A dark-colored Mercedes pulled up beside her and a woman inside requested her to enter the car so they could offer her a ride.

As soon as the door opened, I recognized Chris Martin and thought, "Oh no, I can't enter with him." However, my companions reassured me by saying, "You're allowed to come in with him."

Prior to the arrival of the car, she had contemplated the idea of returning to her residence and tuning in to the broadcast of the spectacle on television.

"She expressed her disappointment about not being able to see Coldplay in her hometown, despite considering herself a fan of the band."

The vocalist with a yellow attire proposed to assist Ms. Glenn in boarding the car, however, she kindly refused.

Towards the conclusion of their performance, Chris Martin bestowed a freshly minted track to Luton Town Football Club.

The Luton local got into a car and ended up sitting next to Mr. Martin. They were on their way to the artist area, where he helped her organize additional transportation to her desired destination.

She remembered, "Upon arrival at the artist's area, he did not abandon me. Instead, he instructed me to take the golf cart and ensure that Saundra was taken to the proper location."

The reason why he is considered a compassionate individual is that he recognizes and is aware of disabilities.

Chris was laughed at by the singer after she said to him, "I'm 64, I'm not interested in festivals. I came here just to see you. Now that I've seen you, I can leave and go back home."

As they were travelling, she inquired about the BBC Three Counties Radio initiative to modify the words of Yellow to Orange. In response, he pledged to deliver "an enjoyable shock."

That evening, the musical group did not revise their tune, but rather gave an original rendition of a freshly created song named "Orange", which Martin composed as a tribute to Luton and its soccer team the night before.

Martin informed her about their practice session and expressed his fondness towards Luton. Ms. Glenn, in return, suggested the Luton-based venture, Chicken George, and shared with him the fact that she has outlived her parents.

She recounted how he had told her to stay put, while they chatted like two elderly ladies, with her grip on his shoulder tight.

According to Ms. Glenn, Radio 1's Big Weekend was the "most awesome festival" she has ever attended. She also commended Coldplay for their track dedicated to Luton Town Football Club.

She smiled brightly and exclaimed, "I had the pleasure of meeting Chris Martin and engaging in a delightful conversation with him. He is a truly kind-hearted individual!"
