The UK group made history by headlining the Worthy Farm festival for the fifth time. They were the main act on Saturday, playing hits such as "Yellow", "The Scientist" and "Viva La Vida".

In their performance, praised by The Independent as an unforgettable show, they had some unexpected appearances from guests like Michael J Fox, Little Simz, and Palestinian-Chilean artist Elyanna.

During the concert, lead singer Martin paused the music and had the lights brightened. He then encouraged the audience to raise their hands and send positive energy to any location they desired around the globe.

Following a request from the massive audience of 100,000 people to refrain from using their phones during "A Sky Full of Stars," Martin instructed everyone to raise their hands and face the main stage. He then urged everyone to send out a huge wave of love to Glastonbury for five seconds.

Martin, who is in favor of global peace, then stated: "You can share it with anyone: you can share it with your grandma, you can share it with Israel, you can share it with Palestine, you can share it with Myanmar. You can share it with Ukraine, you can share it with the lovely country of Russia. You can share it with any place – you can spread it globally from Glastonbury."

Afterwards, he expressed gratitude to the audience for restoring his faith that people from all different backgrounds can come together peacefully, without conflict, to enjoy music, ice cream, and good times. This includes individuals of various nationalities, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and ages.

Martin went on to say: "I appreciate all the inspiration you have given us. We hope that by working together, we can spread positivity and unity in a time when it may seem difficult to do so. Your actions have shown that it is indeed possible, and for that, we are truly grateful. Thank you."

Last Friday, Idles received applause for their performance where they demanded an end to the conflict in Gaza.

Additional artists who performed at this year's festival include Cyndi Lauper, the energetic rock band The Last Dinner Party, and the 2000s pop group Sugababes, whose performance was unfortunately affected by the large crowd.

This was the first time Coldplay has been the main act since 2016. During their performance, lead singer Martin talked about their first time playing at the New Bands Tent in 1999. They have also been the main act at the festival in 2002, 2005, and 2011.
