TechCentral announces Alpheus Mangale as the new CEO of Seacom.

Chief Executive Officer

Seacom has selected Alpheus Mangale as their new CEO to take over from Oliver Fortuin. Before joining Seacom, Mangale served as the head of IT at Standard Bank.

Mangale, who left Standard Bank abruptly in mid-2022 after a number of IT issues caused problems for the company, will be taking over from Fortuin on 1 April. He previously worked as a top leader at MTN Group in South Africa, leading the company's enterprise services sector.

On Thursday, Seacom announced that he will be collaborating with Fortuin for three months to guarantee a seamless transfer of leadership.

Mangale expressed in a statement that he is eager to keep implementing the plan that has led the company towards becoming a merged telecommunication organization across the continent of Africa.

Mangale worked at Dimension Data for a total of 16 years. During that time, he held various positions including the chief technology officer and the chief operating officer. Prior to that, he was in charge of leading Cisco in South Africa and worked as the chief enterprise officer at MTN South Africa.

Pieter Uys, who is the chairman of Seacom and Remgro, expressed his happiness and enthusiasm for Mangale becoming a part of their team. He stated that the entire Seacom board is thrilled about this news.

We trust that Alpheus is the suitable individual to direct the business in light of his past accomplishments, expertise, and familiarity with this field. Our board and I are eager to team up with him to attain our long-term goals.
