Chelsea vs Newcastle
Chelsea secure a 2-0 win over Newcastle United
Chelsea took on Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge in what turned out to be a comfortable win for the Blues. Chelsea dominated the game from the get-go, with possession and a number of shots on goal. The first goal came in the 31st minute, when Olivier Giroud scored with a powerful header. The Magpies tried to level the score in the second half, but Chelsea's defence remained solid throughout the game. The Blues sealed the win in the closing stages of the match, with Timo Werner clinching his side's second goal in the 39th minute. Chelsea walked away with a deserved three points and a clean sheet.
Newcastle United's poor run of form continues
Newcastle United has been struggling for form in recent weeks, and their match against Chelsea didn't change their fortunes. The Magpies lacked creativity upfront and struggled to maintain possession throughout the game. They had a few opportunities to score, but failed to capitalise on them. Defensively, they were sound for the most part but conceded two goals to the home side. The result leaves Newcastle United in 15th place, just three points clear of the relegation zone. Their fans will be hoping for a change in fortunes when they take on Wolves in their next game.
