Sonia Bompastor names her first Chelsea starting XI!
Sonia Bompastor has announced the first team she will field as Chelsea's head coach. Lucy Bronze is about to make her debut as a player for Chelsea against NJ/NY Gotham at the Red Bull Arena.
Our new head coach decided to give summer signing Bronze a chance to play from the beginning as a Blue, while Kaptein, who joined last summer and played on loan at FC Twente last season, is also on the starting XI.
Hannah Hampton is the goalkeeper, and she is joined by a defense line consisting of Bronze, captain Millie Bright, Nathalie Bjorn, and Niamh Charles in front of her.
The returning players for the Blues include Erin Cuthbert and Guro Reiten, as well as Kaptein. Lauren James and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd are also in the starting lineup, with Aggie Beever-Jones up front.
Recent addition Sandy Baltimore has been included in the lineup, along with Alejandra Bernabe who may make her debut for Chelsea after her loan stint at Real Sociedad.
