Sancho pleased to help out, praise for Palmer and settling in well
Jadon Sancho, who is known for his ability to assist, expressed his gratitude to the Chelsea supporters for the warm welcome he received during his first match at Stamford Bridge. He also commended Cole Palmer for his remarkable talent after Palmer scored four goals.
The Blues triumphed over Brighton & Hove Albion with a score of 4-2 at Stamford Bridge yesterday. The excitement took place during a wild first half, where Palmer scored all of Chelsea's goals, making him the first player ever in Premier League history to score four goals in the first half of a match.
Sancho, after earning a penalty and setting up a goal for Palmer, delivered another impressive performance on the wing. We spoke with him after the game to discuss his first match at home, and the England international had a lot of kind words for his teammate Palmer.
"It was an incredibly intense match, as reflected in the final score," Jadon remarked after the game ended.
"We continued to put in the effort and adhered to our strategy, even when we fell behind so quickly. We believed that as long as we stayed committed, opportunities to score would come our way."
"After that, it was our responsibility to seize them, and we did – well, Cole took the lead!"
Having a talent like Cole Palmer on your team opens up a world of possibilities. I've known Cole for quite a while, dating back to our time at City. I've always admired his skills and believed he had the potential to become an exceptional player. Now, he's proving that at Chelsea.
"We witness his abilities every day during practice and recognize the skill he possesses. So, honestly, it doesn’t really shock me that he was able to score four goals."
Honestly, he could have easily netted five or six goals! I bet he’s really frustrated for not increasing his goal count, but the truth is, he’s an exceptional player.
"It’s great to have a teammate like Cole by my side, and I’m glad to support him."
Sancho put on another impressive performance on the wing, drawing the penalty that led to Palmer's second goal and also providing an assist for another one.
Jadon Sancho, the England international, has provided three assists in three matches for Chelsea since his loan move from Manchester United. He has shared his thoughts on his early experiences with the team, expressing satisfaction with his contributions so far. However, he is now looking to expand his skill set by focusing on scoring goals.
"I initially felt like I was a little sluggish in the match against Brighton, but I believe I found my rhythm as the game progressed," he mentioned. "I was able to earn the penalty and also set up Cole's goal, so I'm really pleased to have made a contribution."
In general, I was thrilled to step onto the pitch at Stamford Bridge for the first time as a member of Chelsea. It felt incredible, and I truly valued the warm welcome from the supporters.
Receiving a standing ovation from the audience was an incredible experience, especially with my family and friends there to witness it. Their presence made the moment even more meaningful.
"I’m really pleased to have contributed to goals in the last few matches. I’m adjusting well here and I'm eager to maintain this positive energy and continue supporting my teammates. It would also be great to score my first goal!"
