Wolves beat Chelsea 2-1 on the 15th of December 2020.

In 2020, Wolves struggled to secure victories during the winter months, especially with games being played without fans. However, Pedro Neto's last-minute goal against Chelsea put an end to their losing streak.

Daniel Podence quickly equalized Olivier Giroud's goal, but when Neto was left alone in the fifth minute of stoppage time, he didn't have much help. However, it didn't make a difference as Neto managed to get past Kurt Zouma and scored a goal in the bottom corner, securing a thrilling victory.

"It was a key game for us. Despite coming off two losses, we are thrilled with our performance. I am proud of the team and the incredible effort they put in. We approached the game with a positive mindset and a strong desire to win. Even when we were behind, our mentality was to keep pushing and secure the victory. We are ecstatic with the outcome." - Pedro Neto

"The matches continue until the referee blows the final whistle. In order to score a goal, everything must be executed perfectly. Sometimes, despite a great finish, the goalkeeper makes an incredible save and it may seem like you are facing challenges - in those moments, it's important to stay focused on the task at hand, the trajectory of the ball, and the final touch. When the team puts in a lot of effort like the players did, we ultimately receive our reward and feel satisfied." - Nuno Espirito Santo

Wolves ended the season in 13th place, a significant gap between the top teams and the bottom three.

Frank Lampard was sacked from his position as Chelsea manager the next month. However, the team managed to secure a fourth-place finish and claim victory in the Champions League with Thomas Tuchel at the helm.
