Official: RC Strasbourg sign Caleb Wiley on loan from Chelsea

Chelsea FC

It seems like the deal wasn't completely confirmed before, but now it is official. Caleb Wiley, a young left back, has officially joined RC Strasbourg on loan for the season. This move was anticipated when he signed with Chelsea last week and when Strasbourg showed interest in the 19-year-old US Olympian.

Due to some unknown circumstances, Strasbourg did not end up signing him directly. Instead, he is now a part of Chelsea's squad and also occupies a valuable loan spot for international games. This spot is highly sought-after as we have numerous players in need of loan placements, and FIFA only allows six international loans. This is a far cry from the past when Michael Emenalo had a large number of players out on loans.

Wiley is the second player we have loaned out to RCSA, following Andrey Santos. Goalkeeper Đorđe Petrović has also been mentioned as a potential loanee, but they can only have a maximum of three players from us. Aarón Anselmino from Boca Juniors is another foreign player on loan, and goalkeeper Mike Penders is likely to be the next if he signs from KRC Genk.

In any event, best of luck, Caleb!
