Chappell Roan reacted strongly to a photographer as she arrived at the MTV Video Music Awards tonight, expressing her frustration by telling them to "shut the f*** up."

The emerging pop star, who is 26 years old, indicated towards the culprit and firmly replied, “You need to be quiet.”

Roan attended the evening event in New York on September 11, where he made a stylish entrance on the black carpet, holding a medieval sword as a prop.

"Don't! Not me, you know!" the singer exclaimed before continuing to strike poses for the cameras.

The singer of "Pink Pony Club" recently faced backlash after abruptly canceling two scheduled shows, citing "scheduling conflicts" as the reason. She intends to use this time to practice for her upcoming performance at the VMAs.

A fan expressed their frustration on Instagram, saying, "I really can't believe you think it's okay to disregard your fans who spent their money on travel and accommodation to see your performance, just because you chose to perform at the VMAs instead. You should handle this better!"

Roan recently caught attention when she addressed the importance of “drawing lines and establishing boundaries” in her interactions with fans.

The VMAs have returned and are marking their 40th year this time around.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion will be the host of the awards ceremony taking place at the UBS Arena in Long Island.

This will be the first time the "WAP" singer will host an award ceremony, although she has previously made guest appearances on Saturday Night Live and was a co-host on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Taylor Swift leads the VMA nominations with a total of 10 – eight for her “Fortnight” music video, and additional nominations for Artist of the Year and Best Pop. Following her, Post Malone, who worked with Swift on “Fortnight,” has received nine nominations. He shares eight of those with Swift and has an extra nomination for his country song “I Had Some Help,” which features Morgan Wallen.

Completing the list of nominees for Artist of the Year are Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter, and SZA.

Grande, Carpenter, and Eminem are all tied with six nominations, while Megan Thee Stallion and SZA have received five nominations each. Close behind them are Blackpink's LISA, Olivia Rodrigo, and Teddy Swims, each with four nominations.
