On Thursday afternoon, McQueen's verified Instagram account posted a message from his wife and children, expressing the news with deep sadness.

His incredible path as a caring dad to us, combined with his steadfast devotion to our mother, beautifully showcased a life brimming with love and commitment.

His love for racing not only showcased his incredible skills but also acted as a tribute to his father's memory, reflecting the principles his father had passed down to him.

"He shared his enthusiasm, wisdom, and commitment with us, and we will carry on not only his legacy but also that of our grandfather."

The family has asked for some privacy as they take the time to honor and reflect on his remarkable life.

The article did not disclose the reason for his death.

McQueen was the child of the iconic actor Steve McQueen, known for his roles in movies like Bullitt and The Great Escape. He took after his father by engaging in both acting and automobile racing.

Chad McQueen gained recognition for playing Dutch, the villain in the 1984 film The Karate Kid and its follow-up released two years later.

He appeared in a number of movies such as New York Cop, Squanderers, and Red Line.

However, he became more passionate about racing than acting and started McQueen Racing, a company that designs custom automobiles, motorcycles, and gear.

His son Chase, who is also a racer, along with his daughter Madison, manages the company.

"I no longer enjoyed acting," McQueen shared with the Associated Press in 2005. "That’s when I chose to fully dedicate myself to racing."

McQueen spent many years racing at a professional level, participating in events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona. However, he eventually faced a number of injuries while driving.

His collaboration with McQueen Racing was aimed at honoring and carrying on his father's legacy.

He also created two documentaries focused on his father: I Am Steve McQueen and Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans.

McQueen is survived by his spouse, Jeanie, and their three children: Chase, Madison, and Steven, who is known for his role in The Vampire Diaries.
