Since we're discussing the Women’s Champions League, let's take a look at the reports from the previous matches. The outcomes were varied for the two English teams involved.

Wolfsburg Crushes Fiorentina 7-0 In Qualifier

The German team delivered a stunning defeat, with their experienced star Alexandra Popp scoring three goals in the first match. At 33 years old, she continues to be an exceptional talent.

Carabao Cup Half-Time: Coventry 0-0 Tottenham

Coventry has a chance to pull off another surprising victory in the cup.

Champions League Half-Time Scores

Celtic secured a narrow victory over Slovan Bratislava with a score of 1-0. Meanwhile, the match between Manchester City and Internazionale ended in a goalless draw at 0-0. Club Brugge faced Borussia Dortmund, with neither team able to find the back of the net, resulting in another scoreless draw. Similarly, PSG and Girona also played to a 0-0 stalemate.

Only a single goal scored in the four matches of this tournament. UEFA, what's going on?!

Celtic leads 1-0 against Slovan Bratislava at the 42-minute mark.

Champions League: Both teams are really determined to win. It seems like Celtic and Bratislava believe this match is important for gaining an early victory in the tournament. Celtic clearly have the upper hand, and Kyoto just missed a fantastic opportunity by shooting over the bar. Earlier in the first half, around the 30-minute mark, Weiss made a great move inside but was unfortunate when his shot was blocked.

“It’s quite possible the score could be 3-2 by now in Glasgow,” Simon McMahon writes in an email. “I’d be surprised if we don’t see more goals. Both defenses seem to be struggling.”

Coventry and Tottenham remain scoreless after 33 minutes of play.

Carabao Cup: The Championship team is having a solid moment, really putting Fraser Forster to the test with their set-piece attacks just before the halftime whistle. Udogie and Bencancur have to step up to make crucial blocks. It's a tense situation for Spurs.

Half-Time Score: Brighton Leads Wolves 2-1

Carabao Cup: The visitors scored a crucial goal just before halftime. Wolves will likely return for the second half with a renewed sense of confidence. I attended their match against Brighton in the Premier League last season, and they really should have won that game. A lot has happened since then, but Wolves are still a team to watch out for.

Brighton Clinches Victory Over Wolves, 2-1

Carabao Cup: Wolves score again! Gonçalo Guedes finds the net after Matt Doherty makes a great run to the edge of the area and delivers a pass back to him at the penalty spot. Guedes calmly places the ball into the corner of the net. The match is back in action!

Anderlecht Falls To Vålerenga In Champions League

A significant outcome for the Norwegian team, which faced intense pressure after losing a player due to Michaela Dominique Kovacs' red card.

Carabao Cup: Spurs are off to a rocky beginning. They control the game with 80% possession, yet haven't managed to register a shot on target. Postecoglou has fielded a robust lineup and must be hoping for better results. Solanke is at the forefront of the attack, flanked by Werner and Brennan Johnson. In the midfield, Sarr, Bentancur, and Bergvall are holding things together.

Brighton Scores! 2-0 Against Wolves

Carabao Cup: Adingra truly showcased his talent, having been named man of the match in last year's Afcon final and recognized as the tournament's best young player. The Ivorian skillfully maneuvered in from the left and unleashed a stunning shot into the far corner, increasing Brighton's lead!

Celtic Triumphs 1-0 Over Slovan Bratislava

Champions League: Celtic goes ahead with a crucial goal! Engels, the significant signing made right before the deadline, delivers a corner kick, and Scales sneaks in at the front post. The center-back connects with a powerful header that finds the top of the net, aided by a deflection off the goalkeeper. The crowd at Celtic Park goes wild, and the cameras catch Rod Stewart celebrating enthusiastically in the stands. He really seemed to love that moment!

Club Brugge and Borussia Dortmund played to a goalless draw.

Champions League: The Belgian team came close! Brugge executed a quick corner kick, leading to a flurry of five shots directed at Kobel's goal, all of which were blocked. Eventually, the ball landed at the feet of Hugo Vetlesen, but the Norwegian could only send it crashing against the crossbar from just six yards away!

Celtic and Slovan Bratislava played to a scoreless draw.

Champions League: The action kicked off energetically in Scotland, with both teams coming close in the early stages. Celtic’s Daizen Maeda sprinted towards the goal but sent his attempt soaring over the crossbar from a tight angle. Shortly after, David Strelec from Bratislava tried his luck, but his deflected shot also went just above Kasper Schmeichel’s goal.

The other Carabao Cup match tonight features Coventry against Tottenham, and after eight minutes, the score remains 0-0.

Champions League Early Kick-off Results

Sparta Prague triumphed over RB Salzburg with a score of 3-0.

Brighton Secures 1-0 Win Over Wolves

Carabao Cup: Baleba scores his first goal for Brighton! The Cameroonian is having an impressive season, showcasing his skills as a true talent in midfield. He takes a shot from 25 yards away and bends it past José Sa into the corner of the net! What a fantastic strike! It’s important to mention that Baleba didn’t find the net during his time at Lille, making this goal quite special!

Here are the results from the qualifiers for the Women's Champions League:

Fiorentina faced Wolfsburg and ended the first half with a score of 0-4. In another match, Anderlecht was trailing Vålerenga 1-2 with 20 minutes remaining, during which Vålerenga's Michaela Dominique Kovacs received a red card. Hammarby lost to Benfica with a final score of 1-2. Juventus emerged victorious over PSG, finishing at 3-1. Roma also secured a win against Servette, ending the match at 3-1. Finally, Osijek suffered a defeat against Twente, with a final score of 1-4.

Great news for Juventus, who claimed the runner-up spot in Serie A last season. PSG is facing significant challenges!

Häcken Edges Arsenal 1-0 In Women's CL Qualifier

Tabby Tindell, an American forward who hasn't received her national team cap yet, netted the decisive goal in the first leg with only 13 minutes left on the clock. The Swedish team managed to secure a valuable advantage to bring back to London for the second leg, even though they only held 32% possession and managed to get just one shot on target!

Manchester City Dominates Paris FC 5-0 In Qualifiers

Vivianne Miedema put City ahead after joining from Arsenal over the summer. Jess Park added two goals, one before and one after the break, followed by more strikes from Mary Fowler and Chloe Kelly. City played exceptionally well and have likely secured their spot in the group stage ahead of the second leg.

Celtic's coach, Brendan Rodgers, shares his thoughts:

Every team in the Champions League arrives with a strong sense of confidence. Bratislava boasts impressive experience and talented players. For our first home match, we're eager to create an exciting atmosphere at the stadium and secure our first three points.

Beep! We're off and running in the first of our two Carabao Cup matches this evening: Brighton versus Wolves. Coventry will face Tottenham at 8pm BST.

Just a quick note that you can keep up with Manchester City vs Internazionale through our special liveblog.

The match between Bologna and Shakhtar has been incredibly dull, with the only notable moment being a missed penalty from Heorhiy Sudakov of the visiting team in the first half. The score is still tied at zero, which wouldn't be a terrible outcome for either team.

Here’s the latest update on the Women’s Champions League qualifiers. Manchester City seems to be performing exceptionally well as they head into the second leg, while PSG faces a significant challenge ahead if they want to secure a spot in the group stage!

Here’s a revised version of that section in a more casual tone: Anderlecht trails Vålerenga 1-2 at halftime. Paris FC is behind Manchester City, who leads 5-0 with just 9 minutes left to play. Hammarby is down 1-2 against Benfica, halfway through the second half. Häcken and Arsenal are locked in a scoreless tie at the 71-minute mark. Juventus is in the lead against PSG with a score of 3-1, also at 71 minutes. Roma has finished their match against Servette with a solid 3-1 victory. Lastly, Osijek has been beaten by Twente, ending with a score of 4-1.

Sparta Prague Secures 3-0 Win Over Salzburg

Victor Olatunji gains possession of the ball in the Salzburg penalty area and lays it off for Qazim Laci. What an amazing surprise this is!

Qualification for the Women’s Champions League

Anderlecht will face Vålerenga with the match starting at 6:30 PM BST, while Fiorentina will take on Wolfsburg at 7 PM.

Brighton takes on Wolves at 7:45 PM, while Coventry faces Tottenham at 8 PM.

Champions League matches start at 8 PM.

Celtic will face off against Slovan Bratislava, while Club Brugge takes on Borussia Dortmund. Additionally, PSG will go up against Girona.

We'll also bring you updates on the early matches: Bologna versus Shakhtar and Sparta Prague against RB Salzburg.

In the qualifying rounds of the Women’s Champions League, Anderlecht will face off against Norwegian champions Vålerenga at home. Meanwhile, Wolfsburg, a well-established team in the Champions League who made it to the finals in 2016, 2018, and 2023 and claimed victory in 2013 and 2014, will be visiting Fiorentina. Fiorentina secured their spot in this round by finishing third in Serie A last season.

The two matchups in the Carabao Cup feature a matchup between two Premier League teams, along with a potentially tricky game for Tottenham against Coventry City, who reached the FA Cup semi-finals last season. Exciting times ahead!

There are some captivating side stories unfolding in the men's Champions League already during its second night in this new format. This season, five teams are competing in the tournament for the first time, including two that are playing in this match (with Bologna also starting their game against Shakhtar at 5:45 PM BST).

Slovan Bratislava has reached the group stage for the 12th time, successfully navigating through four qualifying rounds. The team is led by Vladimir Weiss, and his son, also named Vladimir Weiss, is part of the squad. You might recall Weiss Jr. from his time with Manchester City, Bolton, and, well, Glasgow Rangers. Playing at Parkhead, Celtic has seldom had a better chance to kick off their campaign with a victory.

Borussia Dortmund, who were unfortunate runners-up last season, kick off their campaign this year facing Club Brugge. The team has made several new signings, including Maximilian Beier, Waldemar Anton, Serhou Guirassy, Pascal Gross, and Yan Couto, while also parting ways with an impressive 18 players. This list includes notable names like Marco Reus, Youssoufa Moukoko, Sebastién Haller, Mats Hummels, and Niclas Füllkrug. It will be intriguing to see how Nuri Sahin shapes his revamped squad this season.

PSG, now without Kylian Mbappé, appears to be rejuvenated and possibly even better following the star's transfer to Real Madrid. This season, the French team has played four matches and won all of them, scoring 16 goals and conceding just three. As they prepare to face Girona, another team making its debut, they remain an intriguing force, even after losing Artem Dovbyk, Aleix García, and Savinho. Girona's manager, Michel, announced earlier this week that 37-year-old forward Cristhian Stuani will be given the captain's armband for the match against PSG. “Stuani has earned his place in the starting lineup. He has been part of this club for many years and deserves it more than anyone,” Michel shared with the media.

That's all for now. We'll be sharing some updates about the team soon!
