Leah Harrison, who is from Darlington, was taking a stroll through the woods during a school trip when a terrible incident occurred.

The young child has been honored with a heartfelt tribute by her loved ones.

The North Yorkshire Police issued a statement that expressed how they remembered Leah Harrison fondly. They described her as a cheerful, optimistic young girl who always had a smile on her face, and she would often tell amusing jokes that would make everyone laugh. The statement ended with a promise that they would always remember Leah and cherish the joyful moments they shared.

"May your aspirations come true and may you fulfill your desire to be a part of the Lionesses. Let yourself soar to new heights. Rest in paradise."

Leah was a student at Mount Pleasant Primary School which is a constituent school of Lingfield Education Trust.

The CEO of Trust, Nick Blackburn, expressed his sadness in a statement released earlier today, stating that although all the facts are not yet known, it is obvious that this is a devastating tragedy.

We have lost dear Leah from our school and we are keeping her family, friends, and the school staff in our thoughts and prayers. She was a valued member of our school community and will be greatly missed.

The school is setting up counseling services for both students and staff members.

We are all shocked right now and we kindly request that the privacy of the family and school is respected while we try to understand and accept what occurred.

During a school trip to the outwards bounds centre Carlton Adventure, Leah, a year 6 student, experienced a tragic event.

We're collaborating closely with our partner organizations to conduct a comprehensive probe, and we're putting a hold on all council-operated outdoor events and overnight stays for the time being.

"We cannot provide further comments as the investigation is still ongoing and it would not be suitable for us to do so at this time."
