The Team GB runner will take part in the men's 100m race and the men's 4x100m relay at the Stade de France. Facing tough opponents in the track and field events, he will strive to make a name for himself on the global athletics scene.

Describing 2024 as a whirlwind year for Hinchliffe doesn't quite capture the full extent of the chaos.

The man from Britain was a skilled golfer with a handicap of less than 10, dedicating himself to the sport until a few years back. However, he also had a talent for sprinting and made the decision to transition to track and field at 17 years old.

After enlisting the support of nine-time Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis, his progress skyrocketed at a rapid pace.

Louie Hinchliffe's Winning Attitude

Hinchliffe achieved the sixth-best time for the 100m sprint in British history in June, clocking in at 9.95 seconds at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Oregon, USA.

In the following month, the sprinter from Sheffield secured his spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning the UK Athletics Championships Manchester 2024 and earning a gold medal for Team GB.

After earning a spot at the Paris Olympics, Hinchliffe expressed to The Independent: "Going to Paris is a dream come true for me. I have always dreamed of competing in the Olympics since I was young. I believe in my ability to win and perform well under pressure, so anything is possible."

"This is the first year that I have committed to my athletics, and now I am fully dedicated to my training, nutrition, and rest. I am putting in 100% effort into all aspects of my athletic journey."

Hinchliffe will compete against top sprinters like USA's Noah Lyles, British sprinter Zharnel Hughes, and current Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs of Italy. He aims to qualify for the men's 100m final in Saint-Denis on August 4th, and also participate in the men's 4x100m relay final at the Stade de France five days later.
