In April 2020, Michael Ball collaborated with the seasoned artist on a charity single that sold nearly 36,000 copies within the first two days.

Michael Ball, a performer from the West End, expressed his "disappointment" regarding a report that revealed a charity established in honor of Captain Sir Tom Moore had been poorly managed.

The duo worked together on the charity song "You'll Never Walk Alone" to support NHS Charities Together, selling nearly 36,000 copies within the first two days.

A report from the Charity Commission revealed that Hannah Ingram-Moore and her husband showed a consistent pattern of behavior that allowed them to benefit personally from the Captain Tom Foundation. However, the investigation did not link any issues to the charity single.

Ball expressed, "I felt immense pride in it for all the right reasons, so it's truly unfortunate to see it distorted like this."

While appearing on ITV's Good Morning Britain, Ball expressed that he felt "let down."

I learned about his story and featured him on the radio. We developed a connection, and soon the funds started to flow. As it continued to grow, I came up with the idea for this album.

"It’s completely selfless, even from Tom’s perspective. The aim is purely to create a point of connection for people, to highlight positivity. Now, I find myself hesitant to discuss my involvement."

The World War Two veteran gained widespread recognition by strolling along the driveway of his house in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire, during the initial Covid-19 lockdown.

In April 2020, Captain Sir Tom and Ball teamed up for a duet with the NHS Voices of Care Choir, which topped the UK singles chart.

Back then, Ball remarked, "Each of us has drawn inspiration from Captain Tom Moore."

"One of the highlights of my career is having the opportunity to sing alongside this true national hero."

A report revealed that there was a misleading suggestion that the money from book sales would support the foundation, but in reality, the earnings were directed to the family-owned business Club Nook.

David Holdsworth, the CEO of the Charity Commission, remarked, "The charity established in his honor has not fulfilled the selfless legacy left by those who came before."

He mentioned that the report had identified multiple cases where the lines between personal and charitable interests became unclear.
