Camila Cabello Reinvents Herself On New Album ‘C,XOXO’

Camila Cabello

Camila Cabello has gone through a big change in the last year. She showed that a new era was starting with a new hair color. When she released the first single from her latest album, "I Luv It," it was obvious that she, a Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient, was moving in a different musical direction for her next album.

Cabello has just released her fourth album, C,XOXO, which showcases her evolution as an artist. For this new phase of her career, Cabello teamed up with a talented group of collaborators, including rappers such as Drake, Lil Nas X, and the City Girls, as well as top producers like El Guincho and Boi-1da. This album sees Cabello experimenting with different genres like hip-hop and reggaeton, while still delivering the pop music her fans love. After more than six years of solo work, Cabello believes that this album is the peak of her artistic journey.

She mentioned in an interview with The Line of Best Fit that this album was necessary to complete the previous three. She believes that this album shows a progression in achieving her original goal from the start of her career: creating pop music that is somewhat unconventional. She aims to be part of the mainstream while also maintaining a unique perspective.

It's the first time that Cabello is the only one writing songs for the project, fully in control of her own transformation.

"I don't feel as burdened by things that used to burden me when I was younger," she admitted. "Being the one who writes the songs made this album much more meaningful to me."
