Sources: Arsenal close to deal for Calafiori

Arsenal is currently in the final stages of negotiations with Bologna to sign defender Riccardo Calafiori. Sources have informed ESPN that Calafiori is likely to have a medical examination in the next few days.
The 22-year-old player will link up with Arsenal in the United States as they continue their pre-season tour with upcoming matches against Manchester United and Liverpool in the next week.
According to reports from ESPN, Arsenal is set to pay approximately €50 million ($64m) for Calafiori. A large portion of this sum will go to his former team Basel, as they included a sell-on fee in his transfer deal when he moved in the summer of 2023.
Calafiori, who plays for Italy, can play in the center and on the left side of defense. He played in all three of Italy's group matches at Euro 2024. He will be Arsenal's first new player this summer after finalizing David Raya's loan move to Brentford for a total of £30m ($38m).
