"Frustration Over Trossard's Red Card Vs. City"

Arteta encourages Arsenal to build momentum before the match against Atalanta and shares an update on Odegaard's condition.

Riccardo Calafiori urged referees to "fulfill their duties" as he criticized Michael Oliver for sending off Arsenal's Leandro Trossard during their 2-2 match against Manchester City.

Trossard had already received a yellow card when he kicked the ball away after the referee awarded a free-kick against him.

According to the existing rules, a player receives a yellow card for kicking the ball away, and Oliver handed out a warning to the Belgian striker.

Calafiori, who recently joined from Bologna in Serie A, made a remarkable contribution by scoring a goal for his team and played a key role in a solid defensive performance for the majority of the game.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the Italian implied that Oliver might have chosen a different approach for the betterment of the sport.

He stated, "It's essential for referees to perform their duties to ensure the game remains enjoyable to watch."

"In this situation, they don't need to draw too much attention to themselves. Seriously, it's important to simply focus on doing your job."

"That's it. Let the players take over."

Manchester City’s winger Jeremy Doku seemed to escape punishment for a similar offense committed by Trossard. Along with Declan Rice’s recent red card for stopping a free kick, Arteta voiced his frustrations on the matter.

He said, "It's quite clear; there's no need for me to elaborate. I believe the red card situation is straightforward, and it's evident how people perceive it."

"I'm not here to pass judgment on what took place. My role is to endure one of the toughest situations in football for 55 minutes and do what I can to make it through."

"It's not my responsibility, but it's concerning to see that this has occurred twice in just five matches in the Premier League, which is supposed to be the top league."

"[The red card] creates an unmanageable situation. It's quite challenging to compete with 11 players, but with only 10, it's practically impossible. When you're down to 10, you continually have to protect your goal area."

The tie left City with 13 points after five matches, while Arsenal is in fourth place in the Premier League, trailing by two points.
