Bullseye made its comeback on our televisions last Sunday night (December 22) with a festive special on ITV. However, some viewers noticed a rather 'irritating' aspect of the production.

The original program debuted in 1981 and continued for 14 years, hosted by Jim Bowen. After a short revival in 2006, ITV has now introduced a special Christmas episode, featuring Freddie Flintoff as the host.

The cricketing icon was accompanied by darts sensation Luke Littler and professional darts announcer Richard Ashdown on the program. In Bullseye, three teams, each consisting of a casual darts player and a trivia lover, face off for a chance to win various prizes.

The contestants team up to compete for cash and various prizes, and they can earn extra bonuses for hitting the target. At the conclusion of the show, they have the opportunity to risk their winnings in hopes of uncovering a mystery prize concealed behind a screen in the studio. In the past, some of the hidden rewards have included things like a speedboat.

Numerous fans were thrilled to see Bullseye back on television. However, a few viewers quickly pointed out a bothersome production element that they felt was overdone. Many thought the show featured excessive recorded applause and cheers.

They took to X to express their opinions. User @ActuallyClarex commented, “The cheering is quite irritating and has to end #bullseye.” Another user, @Mucky1, added, “Enough with the yelling and clapping already #Bullseye.”

@ShaunInBrum commented: “#Bullseye is shaping up well, but the sound team should tone down the artificial audience noise. The overly exaggerated gasps, laughs, and applause they’ve added don’t blend well with the real clapping happening in the studio.” @KathyWilson chimed in: “It’s no surprise this show runs for an hour if the audience is applauding every single thing that occurs.”

@lyla95 commented: “#Bullseye Why do the audience members have to cheer and clap enthusiastically every time something occurs? It feels so American.”

@SenorApple2014 expressed, “I get that there’s definitely an audience, but someone is overly eager with the laugh track! #Bullseye.” @MissLionHeart commented, “It must be tiring to clap every five seconds!”
