Bruce Springsteen has shared insights about his highly discussed eating habits that help him stay fit and energetic at the age of 75.

The artist, famous for iconic albums like Born to Run, Nebraska, and Born in the USA, is recognized for his spectacular live performances with the E Street Band, which are renowned for stretching over three hours.

Bruce Springsteen's latest tour, marking his first live performances since prior to the pandemic, is captured in a fresh Disney+ documentary called Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

The documentary delves into Springsteen's role not just as a beloved musical legend celebrated by fans across the globe, but also as a leader to his fellow artists, such as Steven Van Zandt, Max Weinberg, Garry Tallent, and his wife, Patti Scialfa, who has recently shared her diagnosis of multiple myeloma.

Many fans who go to Springsteen's concerts frequently mention his impressive energy and fit body, which he has maintained throughout his career. In a recent interview with The Times, Springsteen, who claims to be "almost at the peak of my health," shared his secrets for staying in shape.

When questioned about whether he really consumes just one meal daily, he responded: "Essentially, yes. I’ll usually eat some fruit in the morning, and then have my main meal at dinner. This routine has helped me stay fit and in great shape."

Springsteen mentioned that the key to his success in delivering long live performances nowadays is allowing for breaks between shows. He referred to this approach as “the biggest change” he’s experienced as he’s gotten older.

“If we approach it this way, we can perform at our best, which is what I aim for right now,” he explained. “I don’t want to step onto the stage feeling exhausted, especially since we really push ourselves for three solid hours. It’s exciting to really captivate the audience.”

Springsteen also provided an update about Scialfa, his partner and fellow artist, whom he has been married to since 1991.

Scialfa, who is 71 years old, revealed her multiple myeloma diagnosis last month during the premiere of her new documentary at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

In the movie, Scialfa shared that her health issues have made it challenging for her to perform, which is why she decided to step back from touring.

During the interview, Springsteed mentioned that Sacialfa, whom he acknowledged has faced challenges in gaining recognition for her work due to her marriage, has received significant support from “excellent doctors.”

The NHS explains that multiple myeloma, often referred to simply as myeloma, is a type of cancer that originates in the bone marrow. It can impact various regions of the body such as the spine, skull, pelvis, and ribs.

As time goes on, it may lead to problems such as ongoing bone pain, tiredness, weakness, trouble breathing, as well as blurred vision, headaches, or feeling lightheaded.

"It really takes a toll on her, and that's concerning," Springsteen mentioned. He continued, "But she's been amazing. We've figured out that she can join in to sing a couple of songs, and it's crucial for the fans to understand the situation, especially since they haven't seen her in five years. Patti felt it was important to reconnect with her audience."

Scialfa has been part of the E Street Band since 1984 and, along with the entire band, was honored with induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
