Bronny James not picked in Round 1, and now Round 2 awaits

Bronny James

Bronny James is expected to be drafted tonight in New York.

LeBron James' son, who is following in his father's footsteps as a basketball player, did not get chosen during the first round of the NBA draft on Wednesday. Now, he will have to wait and see if he gets picked during the second round when selections continue on Thursday afternoon.

The best choice for Bronny James could be at the 55th pick in the draft, which is currently owned by the Los Angeles Lakers. This team is where LeBron James, who is likely to enter free agency soon, has been playing since 2018.

The James family has been in New York this week, but it is unclear if Bronny James will show up at the second round of the draft.

Bronny James spent a season playing college basketball at Southern California, where he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. In 25 games, he missed the beginning of the season due to a procedure he had to undergo to address a congenital heart condition. This condition was discovered after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a workout session in the summer.

A group of medical professionals gave Bronny James the green light to play in the NBA last month.

Bronny James, who was recorded as being 6-foot-4 on USC's official list but actually measured at 6 feet, 1 1/2 inches during the combine, is generating a lot of hype as a potential second-round draft pick. This is largely due to his famous family name. His father, a four-time NBA champion, is gearing up for his 22nd season in the NBA this coming fall.

If Bronny James joins the NBA next year, he and his father LeBron James would make history as the first father-son duo to play in the league at the same time. While there have been approximately 100 cases in NBA history of players following in their father's footsteps, none have actually played alongside their father during the same season.
