Brighton 2-2 Nottingham Forest: Points shared in a four-goal thriller as Morgan Gibbs-White sent off at Amex - Eurosport

Brighton vs nottm Forest

Brighton and Nottingham Forest continue to maintain their unbeaten status in the Premier League following an intense 2-2 tie at the Amex Stadium, which saw three players ejected from the game. In the final moments, Morgan Gibbs-White and both head coaches were shown red cards.

In the 83rd minute, Gibbs-White was shown a second yellow card for a late challenge on Joao Pedro. The situation escalated, leading to both home manager Fabian Hurzeler and visiting coach Nuno Espírito Santo being sent to the stands amid the chaos in the coaching area.

Hurzeler's team was caught off guard when they conceded the opening goal just 13 minutes into the match. Chris Wood confidently converted a penalty after it was ruled that Carlos Baleba had brought down Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Brighton flipped the game around with two stunning goals right before halftime. Jack Hinshelwood sent an unstoppable header into the corner of the net from a cross by Jan Paul van Hecke at the 42-minute mark.

Three minutes later, the Seagulls took the lead when Danny Welbeck expertly curled a beautiful free-kick into the goal from 22 yards out. This came after Ola Aina received a yellow card for fouling Kaoru Mitoma.

The action didn't stop there, as Forest managed to level the score in the 70th minute. After spending much of the second half on the defensive, they launched a quick counterattack. Jota Silva, who was quick enough to avoid the offside trap, passed the ball to fellow substitute Ramon Sosa, who calmly scored the equalizer.

Both teams now have nine points from five matches and remain in seventh and eighth place in the rankings.

Nikola Milenkovic: Nottingham Forest's Star Player

He put in a solid performance at the center of the Forest defense, helping his team secure a well-deserved point on the road after their 1-0 victory against Liverpool last week. Despite facing intense pressure from Brighton in the second half, they held their ground and didn’t waver.

Did Gibbs-White Deserve His Red Card?

It's tough to dispute referee Rob Jones' choice to issue a second yellow card. While Gibbs-White did gain possession of the ball, the speed and strength of his tackle from behind on Joao Pedro warranted the second booking. This led to significant protests from both coaching staffs, as neither team was happy with the decision, eventually resulting in both managers being dismissed from the game.
