Gus, also known as Lee Tiger Halley, and Shelley, who goes by Millie Donaldson, have been recognized for their efforts in collecting funds for children with disabilities in Queensland. Eli discovers that the upcoming awards ceremony will be led by Tytus Broz, who was in charge of Lyle's previous place of employment at the prosthetics factory.
When Caitlyn (Sophie Wilde) learns that Eli is interested in interviewing Tytus, a businessman with a questionable history, she brings up her doubts. Eli confides in Caitlyn about his own past, including his step-father's disappearance and Ivan Kroll's (Christopher James Baker) amputation of his finger.
In the story, Caitlyn conducts an investigation and discovers proof that connects Tytus and Ivan. She presents this evidence to Detective Tim Cotton, played by Toby Schmitz, who denies having any knowledge of the connection. However, Cotton is revealed to be corrupt when he informs Ivan about Caitlyn's findings. Tytus asked Eli for an interview, so Eli went with Caitlyn (who pretended to be a photographer) to Tytus's home in Brookfield on the same day as the Queensland Champions awards ceremony.
While on their trip, Gus suddenly falls down as he experiences a horrifying vision of a violent assault. In his vision, Gus attends to the ringing red phone located downstairs, and despite his curiosity, he cannot confirm whether it's a future version of himself calling or not. Gus anxiously ponders over the possibility that this is a glimpse of the forthcoming incident that may put Eli in danger.
When the businessman, Tytus, was talking with Eli at home, a bird that was on its last legs flew into the window, interrupting their conversation. This reminded Eli of something Gus had told him in the initial episode - "your end is a dead blue wren" - which didn't make much sense until now.
After Tytus directly questions Eli about their true intentions and identities, the duo departs. While driving, Caitlyn suggests that they hold off on examining Tytus' residence and land until after Tytus departs for the event. Unfortunately, their escape is immediately recognized by Tytus, prompting him to quickly contact Ivan and demand that they be removed from the premises.
Eli and Caitlyn enter the research facility of Tytus and discover that he has a bizarre and unlawful "farm" where he stores corpses and other body components. Eli is heartbroken to witness the head of Lyle being utilized in Tytus's odd experiments. He takes it with him as proof that his step-father did not simply vanish without a trace.
Right before their departure, Ivan shows up in the shelter and attempts to shoot Eli and Caitlyn. However, they managed to block him in the doorway, and Caitlyn used an axe to hurt Ivan's foot. Finally, they were able to flee and drove away. Although Ivan was injured, he was still able to ride his motorbike to pursue them.
Eli and Caitlyn head to the ceremony where Eli bursts onto the stage holding Lyle's head high to expose Tytus' actions. Law enforcement shows up to take Tytus into custody. Caitlyn notices Ivan and he quickly moves towards Eli, violently stabbing him before slashing Robert's neck. Eli tries to escape up the stairs however, leaving a trail of blood that Gus and Ivan follow to the clock tower.
Eli falls to the ground and notices a blue wren next to him. Unfortunately, Ivan unintentionally crushes the bird with his foot. Ivan prepares to harm Eli once more but before he could, Gus bursts into the room, propels Ivan out of the clock tower, and causes him to plummet to his demise.
