Bob Bryar, the ex-drummer of My Chemical Romance who contributed to the iconic rock opera "The Black Parade," has passed away at the age of 44, as announced by the band.
A representative for My Chemical Romance stated on Sunday, "The band requests your understanding and patience as they come to terms with the news of Bob's death."
The announcement lacked any extra information.
Bryar took over from drummer Matt Pelissier in 2004 and departed from the band in 2010. After leaving the music scene, he sold a drum set in an auction to support an animal adoption center in Williamson County, Tennessee.
Next year, the band will kick off a 10-show tour across North America, during which they'll play their entire album "The Black Parade," which came out in 2006.
My Chemical Romance came together in 2001 and produced four studio albums over their career, initially gaining popularity with their 2004 release, “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.” In 2013, they revealed that they had disbanded, and the following year, they put out a greatest hits album called “May Death Never Stop You.” Then, in 2019, they announced they were reuniting and later disclosed that they had actually gotten back together in secret two years prior.
