Now GAME's bungled Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 pre-orders, too

Customers are facing delays once more, only a few weeks after the issues with Silent Hill 2.

GAME customers are once again experiencing a frustrating delay in getting their hands on the highly anticipated gaming release—this time, it's Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The struggling high street retailer has once again fallen short in dispatching pre-order copies on time.

Customers report that the retailer has charged their accounts but has not delivered their copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on the day it was released, and there's been minimal communication about when they can expect their orders to arrive.

A statement on GAME's support page has recognized this recent issue and mentioned that the orders impacted are now "in progress." Eurogamer has reached out to GAME's parent company, Frasers Group, for additional information.

"Some customers may still be waiting for their delivery of Call of Duty Black Ops 6," reads a notice on Game's Help website. "We're actively working on these orders and will provide updates soon. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused."

GAME had earlier encouraged customers to pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 by offering a Steelbook case and the chance to "pick up and play" on October 25, 2024, which is today.

However, some GAME customers have informed Eurogamer that they haven't received their copy or the Steelbook. Customer service representatives have reportedly told them that the deliveries won't happen until at least next week.

In an email from GAME's customer support, which Eurogamer has reviewed, a service representative confirmed that the customer's order for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is among several items facing delays due to updates on their website.

This relates to the ongoing problem that Eurogamer mentioned earlier, stemming from the integration of GAME's systems with those of Frasers Group. As a result, GAME customers have been unable to access their past orders or make changes to or cancel them easily on the GAME website.

Customers of GAME are once again in a frustrating situation. They're dissatisfied with the delays and hesitant to buy a copy from another retailer because of the hassle it would create in obtaining a refund, as well as the disappointment of missing out on GAME's exclusive Steelbook.

Earlier this month, customers at GAME had to endure a stressful wait for their copies of Silent Hill 2 to arrive. When the games finally showed up, they came without the promised Steelbook case that was supposed to be included. Eurogamer had previously reported on GAME customers who had been waiting for weeks, and in some cases even months, for their missing pre-orders to be fulfilled.
