Disturbances after hundreds at Birmingham demonstration

Birmingham

There was some trouble after many people came together in a part of Birmingham because of wrong information that there would be a march by far-right protesters.

The large group of people were situated near a McDonald's restaurant near Heartlands Hospital in the Bordesley Green neighborhood.

Later in the night, a bunch of Muslim teenagers separated from the protest and targeted multiple cars and The Clumsy Swan pub in Yardley. They were masked and armed with weapons.

The cars were near the Stechford police station.

The police in the West Midlands reported that there were at least three incidents of property damage, one case where a person was spotted with a dangerous weapon, and one instance of physical assault.

After three children were tragically stabbed to death in Southport last week, similar incidents have occurred in various towns and cities across the UK.

Protests have been sparked partly due to untrue allegations that the suspect was of Muslim faith and an asylum seeker.
