Billy Monger, a 25-year-old motorsport competitor and television host, hails from Surrey.
He started kart racing at just six years old and joined the F4 British championship team for the first time in 2016.
In April 2017, he had a serious accident during a race at the Donington Park racetrack, colliding at high speed with another racer.
As a result, doctors had to amputate both of his legs, and he uses specialized prosthetic limbs to walk and even dance. Remarkably, he was back on the racetrack by November of that year and now shares his insights as a commentator for the sport on television.
In March 2021, he successfully finished Billy's Big Challenge, a 140-mile event that included walking, kayaking, and cycling. This endeavor supported Comic Relief, and he helped raise more than £3 million for the charity.

Billy Monger and Nadiya Bychkova will be featured in the 2024 Strictly Christmas Special on BBC.
Following the reveal of the Strictly Christmas 2024 cast, Billy expressed, "Over the past year, I’ve dedicated 20 hours a week to training for an Ironman world record. However, the idea of wearing sequins in front of Craig Revel Horwood fills me with a level of anxiety I've never felt before."
"I'm stepping way out of my comfort zone with this! My family loves Strictly, so I'm taking this on for them and to help bring attention to my efforts for Comic Relief next year."

Who Is Billy Monger's Dance Partner For Strictly?
Billy Monger and Nadiya Bychkova will be featured in the BBC's Strictly Christmas Special 2024.
Billy will be teamed up with Strictly professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova for the holiday special.
Nadiya joined the professional cast of Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 and has partnered with six different contestants during her time on the program.
This year, she went up against Olympian Tom Dean, but unfortunately, she was the first contestant to be eliminated from the series.
This will be her third appearance in a Christmas Special, having previously performed alongside Larry Lamb from Gavin & Stacey and TV host Dan Snow.
