Billy Harris achieved a major career feat by reaching the quarter-finals of the ATP 500 at the cinch Championships. He secured a victory over qualifier Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard with a score of 6-4, 7-5 in a quick one hour and 10 minutes.

Harris has been in outstanding form on grass this year, making it to the semi-finals at both the Lexus Surbiton Trophy and Rothesay Open Nottingham. The 29-year-old's impressive performance continued as he reached the quarterfinals for the first time at the Queen's Club, extending his fairytale run.

Harris won just a day after receiving a special spot to play in Wimbledon, one of the biggest tennis tournaments in the world. This will be his first time competing in the main tournament at Wimbledon.

Harris was really happy with his win against Mpetshi Perricard. He said it gave him a big boost in confidence. He knew it would be a tough match because of Perricard's strong serve. In the first set, he was surprised at how fast Perricard's serves were. He had to stay focused and keep up with the pace of the game. Harris was able to break Perricard's serve when he needed to and he felt good about how he played.

I was unsure about how I would feel today when I stepped onto Centre Court. However, once I started playing, the crowd's support boosted my confidence and helped me during the match. I was able to adapt quickly and stay focused throughout.

This means that two British players are now preparing to compete in the quarter-finals in West London after Jack Draper defeated defending champion Carlos Alcaraz earlier today.

"Incredible performance by Jack (Draper). He represents the next generation of British tennis players and is setting a great example for others to follow. It's inspiring to watch him in action and see the amazing things he's accomplishing on the court."

Following his impressive victory against world No.32 Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the previous round, Harris aimed to keep up his strong performance in the next match against the powerful French player.

The 29-year-old completely controlled the match with his serve and never had to defend against losing a point. With just one break of serve in each set, Harris was able to take charge of the match and secure his first ATP 500 quarter-final victory.

He will now face either Brandon Nakashima from America or Lorenzo Musetti for a chance to advance to the semi-finals.
