Man arrested over burglary at cricketer Ben Stokes's County Durham home
Stokes has been leading the England Test team since 2022.
A man has been detained after breaking into the residence of Ben Stokes, the captain of the England cricket team.
Stokes, who had been in Pakistan for the latest Test series, shared that his wife and two kids were at their home in Castle Eden, County Durham, when a masked group forced their way in on October 17.
The Durham Police announced that they detained a 32-year-old man from North Yorkshire during the night on suspicion of breaking and entering.
The police stated that he has been granted bail as the investigation is still ongoing.
Stokes, who is 33 years old, mentioned that his family wasn't physically harmed, but several meaningful belongings were stolen, including the medal he received for his OBE in 2020.
He shared images of the lost items online, which featured three necklaces, a ring, and a designer handbag.
The cricketer mentioned that his only reason for posting the pictures was not to reclaim his belongings, but rather to identify those responsible for the incident.
