Man arrested after burglary at home of England cricket captain Ben Stokes
A man has been detained after a break-in at the home of England Test captain Ben Stokes while he was playing in Pakistan earlier this month.
In an online post, Stokes mentioned that on October 17, a significant amount of jewellery, valuable items, and various personal belongings were stolen while his wife and their two young children were at their home in County Durham.
Durham police reported that a 32-year-old man from North Yorkshire was taken into custody on suspicion of burglary during the night.
He has been released on bail while the investigation is ongoing.

In a social media post appealing for the return of his stolen belongings, Stokes expressed that "the most distressing aspect of this crime is that it happened while my wife and two small children were inside the house."
"Fortunately, all my family members are safe and unharmed," he continued. "However, it's natural that this situation has affected their emotional and mental well-being."
"The only thing on our minds is just how much more difficult this situation could have turned out."
One of the stolen items was a gold necklace featuring a lion pendant, which has the phrase 'some may be better, but none will be braver' etched on the back.

Another piece was a bespoke gold ring crafted by the talented jeweler MJ Jones. This ring showcases the England cricket emblem, adorned with diamonds that encircle it.
The belongings also featured a Christian Dior handbag personalized with his wife Clare's initials, along with an additional two necklaces.
One piece showcases a dark gemstone, while another is adorned with a diamond-studded '4C' design, paying homage to the 4CAST entrepreneurial group he started alongside fellow athletes Jofra Archer and Stuart Broad.
After being sidelined by an injury that caused him to miss the first of England's three Test matches in Pakistan, Stokes returned to lead the team in Multan during the incident.
The game, which Pakistan won, took place the day after the attack.
