Scotland's manager, Steve Clarke, commended Ben Doak for his role in assisting a goal during Scotland's important victory against Poland in the Nations League.
Clarke's team had to come out on top in Warsaw to steer clear of being sent down to League B, and they achieved the essential win with goals from Premier League players John McGinn and Andy Robertson.
Liverpool's left-back, Robertson, scored a thrilling last-minute goal that ultimately sent Poland down to relegation. Meanwhile, Scotland now has an opportunity to secure its spot in League A with a two-match playoff scheduled for March.
John Souttar provided the assist for Robertson's equalizer, but it was Doak who set up McGinn for Scotland's first goal. After the match, Clarke praised the young player's performance.
Liverpool ought to secure the signing of a player with 134 goals on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.
A lawyer has revealed the details of Mohamed Salah's contract situation with Liverpool.
As the game was coming to a close, Clarke noted, "We made five substitutions. I believe we have a strong roster. We're still lacking three or four more players who could enhance our performance. I hope that by next year, they’ll return to fitness and complicate things for me when selecting the team."
Over the past five and a half years, I've experienced many great moments, and this is just another part of the journey. We understood that we needed to perform at our highest level to achieve a good outcome. This is yet another situation that proves we are capable of playing away from home and securing a favorable result even in challenging circumstances.
"Ben (Doak) provided another assist, which is great to see. I noticed he seemed to tire fairly quickly in the second half; I probably should have substituted him a bit sooner. Still, he poses a real threat, he plays aggressively, and he knows how to take on defenders."
Doak has participated in all six of Scotland's Nations League games, starting in the last four. He's clearly gaining from his choice to go on loan from Liverpool this summer.
The Scottish player has scored once and provided three assists in ten games with Middlesbrough. His attacking play on the wing and impressive dribbling skills have given many Championship defenders a tough time.
Arne Slot recently made a lighthearted remark about bringing Doak back in January. While Boro seemed unfazed by the comment from Liverpool's coach, it indicated that Slot had been paying attention to how well Doak has been performing in Teesside.
