The Early Days of Barry Manilow’s Career
Barry Manilow is an iconic American musician and composer, known for his timeless hits like “Mandy” and “Copacabana”. He was born on June 17, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. As a child, Barry was already showing signs of his passion for music. He learned to play the piano at the age of seven and began composing his own music when he was only 13 years old. After completing his studies, he worked as a sideman and arranger for various music groups and artists, including Bette Midler.
In 1973, Barry released his debut album, Barry Manilow, which included the hit singles “Mandy” and “Could It Be Magic”. This album was a huge success and launched Barry’s career as a solo artist. Over the next few years, he continued to release chart-topping albums and singles, including “Copacabana” and “I Write the Songs”. He also started performing on stage, captivating audiences with his smooth voice and energetic performances. Today, Barry Manilow is considered one of the most successful musical performers of all time.
