Barcelona vs Sevilla

FC Barcelona's head coach Hansi Flick plans to make some adjustments to his starting lineup as the team takes on Sevilla in La Liga at Montjuic Stadium this Sunday.

FC Barcelona's head coach, Hansi Flick, plans to make some adjustments to his starting lineup as the team takes on Sevilla in La Liga at Montjuic Stadium this Sunday.

Barcelona has less than a week to prepare for El Clasico against their fierce rivals Real Madrid. As they head into this highly anticipated match, they're tied on points at the top of the table following Carlo Ancelotti's team's 2-1 victory over a determined Celta Vigo last Saturday night.

During his pre-match press conference on Saturday, Flick announced that he will have three players coming back from injury.

"Flick announced that Gavi, Dani Olmo, and Fermin Lopez are fit to play again."

"Gavi's situation is quite unique, and I can confirm he'll be on the bench. Fermin is performing well and could get some playing time. Dani has shown progress, so he'll also sit on the bench, and we're likely looking ahead to Wednesday's match against Bayern Munich."

Elaborating on Gavi, Flick mentioned that "we have numerous players in the midfield who are capable of filling different roles."

"I really admire Gavi for his mindset and the way he harnesses his intensity while handling the ball. He has the versatility to play as a defensive midfielder or an attacking midfielder. I've discussed his role with him, particularly focusing on those two positions," Flick shared.

As mentioned earlier, none of the three players will be in the starting lineup. Instead, Flick is opting for a midfield trio, featuring Eric Garcia as the central player, who will offer support behind Pedri and Marc Casado.

With Ferran Torres sidelined due to injury, Raphinha returns to his typical position on the left wing. Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal, who had been reported to have a hamstring strain, occupies the right side alongside Spain's leading scorer, Robert Lewandowski.

On the opposite side of the field, Inaki Pena will take the role of starting goalkeeper for tonight's game as well as for the Champions League match against Bayern Munich, which was coached by Flick in the past, scheduled for Wednesday evening.

The defensive line features Alejandro Balde, Inigo Martinez, Pau Cubarsi, and Jules Kounde arranged from left to right.

FC Barcelona vs. Sevilla Starting Lineup: Pena; Balde, Inigo, Cubarsi, Kounde; Eric, Pedri, Casado; Raphinha, Lewandowski, Lamine.
