Champions League: Atlético Madrid fightback foils Feyenoord in thriller

Atletico Madrid

Alvaro Morata scored twice for Atlético Madrid in their victory over Feyenoord at the Metropolitano. Although they fell behind twice with a score of 1-0 and 2-1, they managed to come back and win 3-2.

Feyenoord had a great start to their Group E campaign, beating Celtic 2-0. They played aggressively against their opponents and scored their first goal thanks to Mario Hermoso's unlucky own goal. In the sixth minute of the match, Ayase Ueda took a shot on goal that was blocked by Jan Oblak. Unfortunately for Hermoso, the ball ricocheted off his knee and went into the net, giving Feyenoord the early lead.

In a quick turnaround, Morata managed to score a goal for Diego Simeone's squad in just five minutes to level the score. However, the Netherlands' top team regained control with Slovakian defender David Hancko scoring an impressive goal by taking advantage of another rebound opportunity in the 34th minute.

During the first half of the football match, Antoine Griezmann's strike helped Atlético regain their strength while dealing with an injury. After the game resumed, Morata swiftly took the lead for the team by shooting the ball into the net. Despite efforts from Feyenoord to keep pushing forward, their attempts were repeatedly shut down by Oblak. Nonetheless, Atlético managed to hold on and break their streak of six games without a victory in the Champions League.

In Group H of the match, Shakhtar Donetsk managed to make an impressive comeback from being 2-0 down during half-time. They were able to secure a 3-2 win against Royal Antwerp. However, the hosts had a chance to tie the game with a penalty kick at the end, but Toby Alderweireld missed that crucial opportunity.

In the soccer match, Antwerp quickly took the lead with a goal from Arbnor Muja in the third minute. Michel-Ange Balikwisha doubled their advantage 30 minutes later. However, after halftime, Shakhtar played much better and looked like a completely changed team.

Georgiy Sudakov hit the top of the goalpost before Danylo Sikan used his head to score Shakhtar's opening goal in the 48th minute. Yaroslav Rakytskyy drew level with a free kick that deflected off a defender in the 71st minute, and Sikan completed the comeback by scoring again five minutes later.

The football team Antwerp suffered a 5-0 defeat against Barcelona in their opening match. However, they were given a chance to secure a tie when Taras Stepanenko was sanctioned for handling the ball during stoppage time. Alderweireld was responsible for taking the penalty, but unfortunately, he missed and the game ended.
