The Serie A match between Atalanta and Como has been rescheduled due to heavy rainfall that rendered the field unfit for play, according to officials on Monday.

The players stepped onto the field for their warm-up in northern Italy, but large puddles had accumulated, leading the match referee and both team captains to declare the playing surface unfit for the game.

"League officials announced that the game has been delayed because the field is too waterlogged. It will now take place on Tuesday at 18:45 GMT."

Last season, Atalanta secured the Europa League title and finished fourth in Serie A. However, their current season has been somewhat uneven, as they've recorded two victories and two losses in the league so far.

Bergamo played to a 0-0 tie at home against Arsenal in their first Champions League match last week.

If Atalanta secures a victory, they will match the points of Juventus, who are currently in fourth place. On the other hand, the newly promoted Como is having a tough time and sits in second-to-last place.
