PS5 stock: Where will PS5 be available first? Argos, John Lewis, GAME latest updates

PS5 stock landed last year but many UK gamers remain desperate to get hold of a Playstation 5. So which out of Argos John Lewis and GAME will restock PS5 first? Express.co.uk reveals the latest stock news for these three Sony Playstation 5 retailers.

Sony’s Playstation 5 is arguably the most in-demand games console on the planet right now. A worldwide PS5 shortage is directly due to a shortage of the console's chips.

And this problem has been compounded by distribution and manufacturing issues exacerbated by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The resulting PS5 stock scarcity has now left many millions of Playstation gamers frustrated for months.

This resulted in many gamers failing to land a PS5 in time for Christmas.

PS5 manufacturer Sony forecast 8.5 million units will have been built by the end of March, after originally stating general demand will only be met in the first few months of this year.

This means Sony has appeared to confirm more stock should land in the first quarter of 2021.

However, the cutting-edge console designer has refused to go into details by confirming exactly when these will arrive.

Online giant Amazon has confirmed PS5 consoles will be available again at some point, although stock is very limited.

Unfortunately, a statement on Amazon.co.uk’s dedicated Playstation page states: “PS5 Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.”

Argos, John Lewis, GAME latest PS5 updates:

Express.co.uk has this afternoon contacted Argos, John Lewis and GAME and will update this article accordingly.

There are indication high street staple John Lewis should receive new PS5 stock in early 2021.

BirminghamLive reported on Tuesday, January 13: “We spoke to John Lewis in [the UK’s] High Wycombe over the phone and the news is they said some time next week they should be on the website as they have confirmed they have stock about 500.”

And although John Lewis’ PS5 page currently lists the console as out of stock, there are promising signs.

BirminghamLive adds: “The John Lewis PS5 page has clearly changed today to now show the product (although still out of stock).

“Up until yesterday customers were just directed to a page that said all PS5s were sold out and no more stock was available.”

The prospects of landing a converted PS5 at GAME appear even more unlikely for the foreseeable future.

GAME has not supplied a stock update on its website today, meaning PS5 fans should continue checking the website an alert suddenly appears.

PS5 hunters are also encouraged to keep a beady eye Twitter feeds for the latest Playstation 5 updates.

Argos has again today confirmed the first looking to snaffle a PS5 will be those who regularly check their website.

Rumours continue to swirl con social media that more PS5 consoles will become available at some point this week.

However, at the time of writing only auction site such as eBay have consoles available, according to Stock Informer

And those desperate enough may have to stump-up a hefty price should they decide to purchase through a third party.
