Anthony Joshua to take on ex-UFC star Francis Ngannou in Saudi clash

Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua is scheduled to clash with ex-UFC titleholder Francis Ngannou in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The ex-champ who defeated Otto Wallin in December has plans to come back to Riyadh and fight against Ngannou, but the specific date has not been disclosed yet. The match is expected to run for 10 rounds and rumors are circulating that it may happen in March.

At 37 years old, the Cameroonian fighter held the heavyweight championship in UFC. However, he has only participated in professional boxing once. In this fight, he came very close to causing an upset when he knocked Tyson Fury to the ground in October. Despite his impressive performance, he ended up losing the match with a split decision.

He is going back to Saudi Arabia to fight Joshua, as Deontay Wilder's intended fight was canceled due to his defeat against Joseph Parker.

After his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk last September, Joshua has been beltless and had plans to battle Croatian powerhouse Filip Hrgovic. However, he will now square off against Ngannou.

Eddie Hearn, the person who promotes Joshua, shared a post on a social media platform, X, saying that everything is final and confirmed! Joshua will be fighting against Francis Ngannou in a major event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The press conference will be held on January 15 in London, and there will be more information shared very soon.
