Anna Henderson survives storm to take silver for Team GB in women’s time trial

Anna Henderson claimed the second-place spot for Great Britain in the women's time trial event at the Paris Olympics, narrowly beating out Chloé Dygert from the USA by a margin of less than one second.

In wet and dangerous weather that caused trouble for many riders, Henderson finished the 32.4km race in Paris with a time of 41 minutes and 10.7 seconds. She was 1 minute and 31 seconds behind Australian Grace Brown, who won the gold medal.

Dygert was one of the riders who fell off their bike, which was important because she lost the 15-second lead she had over Henderson at the first timing checkpoint. In the end, she finished just nine tenths of a second behind Henderson.

In the male competition, Remco Evenepoel won first place for Belgium, while Filippo Ganna of Italy came in second. Wout van Aert secured third place, followed closely by Team GB's Josh Tarling who finished just over two seconds behind after experiencing a puncture.
