Anna Delvey will be appearing on season 33 of Dancing with the Stars while wearing an electronic ankle bracelet.

The fraudster, aged 33, known as Anna Sorkin, was freed from immigration detention and put on house arrest in October 2022. This came after a Netflix show about her scams, Inventing Anna, made her widely known internationally.

Delvey was given permission by ICE to appear on Dancing with the Stars, despite her usual travel restrictions. She lives in New York and is required to wear an ankle monitor, but this exemption allows her to travel beyond the usual 75-mile limit.

In the show's promotional photos, Delvey is seen wearing a black ankle monitor along with her sparkly dancewear. People on social media have had mixed reactions to her outfit choice, praising and criticizing it at the same time. Delvey has been found guilty of trying to steal a large amount of money and committing theft multiple times.

"Someone on X/Twitter said that Anna Delvey appearing on Dancing with the Stars while wearing her ankle monitor is possibly the best pop culture moment of the year."

In the meantime, another user expressed dissatisfaction by saying, "She can freely disregard our legal system."

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight during the Dancing with the Stars launch event, Delvey mentioned that she plans to decorate her ankle monitor with jewels as she competes on the show.

Talking about her dance partner, Ezra Sosa, the person who has been convicted of a crime said: "Ezra will take care of that," and Sosa responded: "I brought all my supplies, we're going to add rhinestones to it."

Looking back on trading her time in captivity for trips to Los Angeles, where Dancing with the Stars is shot, Delvey expressed, "I truly long for the days when I was on house arrest because now I have to travel and people don't visit me as often."

When questioned about feeling scared or anxious to participate in the competition following her jail time, the deceitful individual responded, "I mean, what's the worst that could occur? They won't apprehend me for dancing poorly."

Delvey has been confined to her home for the last two years. She conned companies out of more than $200,000 by pretending to be a wealthy heiress. As a result, this New York socialite was arrested and sent to jail. In 2022, she was set free but had to stay home because she had stayed in the country illegally. Delvey was originally from Russia but moved to Germany with her family when she was young.

During August, Delvey was given the go-ahead to use social media again. Page Six reported that the court decided to remove her social media restrictions, giving her the ability to reactivate her accounts on August 16.

In an interview with Page Six, she expressed her gratitude towards the US court system and her lawyers John Sandweg and Catherine Hunstad for defending her right to freedom of speech. She also expressed her excitement at being able to take back control of her own story on social media.
