Lille midfielder Angel Gomes has calmed worries that he sustained a severe head injury after a crash during the game against Reims on Saturday.

The ex-Manchester United academy player was taken to the hospital after a thirty-minute pause in Saturday's 2-0 victory. He was knocked out in a collision with defender Amadou Kone.

Yet the 23-year-old, who was let go by United in 2020, shared an update from the hospital.

Featured on a stretcher with a neck brace, Gomes shared on Instagram: "Just wanted to update everyone that I'm perfectly fine!"

I am truly grateful for all the love and support I have received during this time of need. I am thankful to have come out on the other side, and I feel blessed. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and shown their support.
