The 23-year-old player got hurt during a collision with Amadou Kone, who was given a red card right after.

The game was paused for a while because Gomes needed medical help on the field, and all the players gathered around him in a circle. Fans from both teams were chanting his name in support.

Following a wait of more than 20 minutes, Gomes was secured to a stretcher and transported off the field by medical personnel. Lille later announced that the player had regained consciousness and was being treated in a hospital.
