Before the Geneva Open's first round match between Andy Murray and Yannick Hanfmann was halted due to strange weather patterns, Murray was on the verge of losing.

The ex-top-ranked player was losing by a score of 7-5 4-1 in Switzerland when precipitation began to descend and powerful winds blew airborne white powder onto the area of play.

Murray had a disagreement with umpire Greg Allensworth, stating that it was similar to being in a snowstorm while still being required to continue playing. Ultimately, it was agreed that the players should go back to the locker room.

The game got canceled for the day, and Murray's match was set for Tuesday at 12:00 pm British Standard Time.

The game of Jack Draper, a British citizen, against Tomas Machac from Czech Republic, has been rescheduled for Tuesday.

Maverick Murray participated in his debut ATP Tour match after tearing ankle tendons at the Miami Open in March.

If he fails to make an impressive comeback against Hanfmann from Germany, the Scottish player will lose the opportunity to face off against the first-ranked player globally, Novak Djokovic, in the second round.

Murray, who is 37 years old, recently competed in an ATP Challenger tournament on clay courts in Bordeaux. This was his first tournament since suffering ankle ligament tears in March. Unfortunately, he was eliminated in the second round by French player Gregoire Barrere.

The person who has won the Grand Slam thrice has mentioned in the past that he won't continue playing after this summer. However, he hasn't revealed the place where he will play his last tournament.

Murray, who holds the 75th position globally, has been enlisted for the French Open's participation list, the second prominent tournament of the season. It commences on 26 May.
