Dan Evans has shared that he promised Andy Murray something before their doubles match.

Evans defeated Moez Echargui from Tunisia with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 in his first-ever Olympics singles match.

However, worries were expressed about his partnership with Murray during the game when he hurt his wrist and scraped his knee after making a diving shot. This led to a break in the game for medical attention.

Nevertheless, Evans expressed his excitement to continue with the men's doubles, which is expected to be Murray's last tournament.

"I fell down and hurt myself a little. I'm feeling a bit sore right now, so I'm going to get examined and then take a cold bath," Evans explained.

Dan Evans shared that he promised Andy Murray something before they played in their doubles match.

Murray and Evans will play against the Japanese team of Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori in their upcoming doubles match.

Evans experienced a moment of concern due to an injury during his individual match against Moez Echargui of Tunisia.

When asked about his fears of how it might affect the doubles, he said, "I was worried about it throughout the entire game."

I don't want to be the one letting him down. We decided we would focus on doubles this week, and as I was playing on the clay court, that's all I could think about.

Murray and Evans will have a challenging first doubles match against Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori from Japan on Sunday night as they look to win the gold medal.

They may not be considered top contenders for a medal, but both players have achieved success in doubles competitions and have been crucial team members in the Davis Cup for their country.

Evans said he wants to make sure the Scot has a special farewell before he retires. He withdrew from the singles competition earlier this week.

In his important role in a significant Games story, Evans shared, "It's exciting, but my main goal is to win a medal for both him and myself."
