Romanian authorities have conducted searches at the residences of polarizing social media star Andrew Tate as part of a probe into fresh accusations levied against him.

The online figure was already in legal trouble for rape and human trafficking. Now, prosecutors believe they may also be charged with engaging in sexual activities and trafficking with minors, as well as money laundering and trying to sway witnesses.

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, who are very popular on social media, have rejected all accusations made against them in the past.

They were initially held in Romania in December 2022, but were later freed from confinement at home in August 2023.

Per a statement from DIICOT, a special prosecution unit within the Romanian Organised Crime Directorate, authorities conducted searches at four residences on Wednesday morning in Bucharest and Ilfov county.

The BBC knows that this inquiry involves Andrew Tate and that they have been conducting these investigations for a while.

Following the raid, the influencer took to X (formerly Twitter) to post: "The Matrix is real. And they have a well-established playbook."

Gossip and lies are the main weapons they use, and they use them to try to hurt others. However, they will ultimately be defeated because goodness prevails in the end.

Andrew Tate, who openly admits to hating women, was once removed from various social media websites for promoting hateful ideas towards women.

He continues to insist that the Romanian prosecutors have no proof of wrongdoing, and he believes there is a plot to silence him.

The Tate brothers, who used to be kickboxers and hold citizenship in both the UK and the US, are being accused of taking advantage of women through an adult entertainment business. Prosecutors claim that the business was operated as a criminal organization.

Two women from Romania were accused along with the brothers in a legal document released in June of last year. The document also mentioned that seven individuals were believed to be victims.

Online personalities are being sought after in the UK for their alleged involvement in sexual offenses that are not related to each other.
